Obituary of Josephine "Josie" Thibodeau
Thibodeau, Josephine Mary (Josie) It’s with great sadness we announce the passing of Josephine Mary (Josie) Thibodeau of Saint John, NB. Josephine passed away peacefully in her sleep at Bobby’s Hospice with her family by her side on August 16, 2012. Born in Chatham, NB on May 26, 1933. She was predeceased by her brothers, Charles Vautour and Tommy, her mother Ella Scott and father, Joseph Vautour. Josie was very family orientated and especially loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren for the love and joy they brought to her life. Josephine was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. In addition to her husband of 54 years, Leo Joseph Thibodeau, Josie is survived by her daughters, Brenda, Cleo and Dale Thibodeau and brothers, Harvey (Linda) Sherrard, Bud and Herman; sister, Doris (Tom) Mullin, of Newcastle, NB and grandchildren, Jody, Mindy, Misty, Rick, Dana, and Destiny; great grandchildren, Justine, Josh, Dawson, Jayden, Jersey, Jasper and Kyle and several nieces and nephews. In her spare time Josie loved to sing, dance, and play guitar. She was also an amazing cook. Josie was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Branch #2 for many years. She will be fondly remembered by family, friends, and missed greatly as she was the “Queen” of our family. The family would like to thank the staff and volunteers of Bobby’s Hospice for their exceptional care. Arrangements are entrusted to Castle Funeral Home, “Fallsview Chapel”, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John West (634-1701), visitation will take place on Saturday, August 18, 2012 from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday, August 19, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., with a Ladies Auxiliary service at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, August 20, 2012 at 12:00 p.m. from Our Lady of the Assumption Church. Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date. For those of you who wish, remembrances can be made to Bobby’s Hospice, or the Canadian Cancer Society.
