Obituary of Mary "Rita" Thomas
Peacefully Mary Bridget “Rita” Thomas passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at Guelph General Hospital in Guelph, ON. A long time resident of West Saint John she was the daughter of the late Edward and Elizabeth (Vautour) Boudreau. Rita was a long time employee of Revenue Canada (Taxation), retiring in 1996. She will be missed by son Mark (Vivien) Thomas of Pickering, ON; daughter Carol (Michael) Alderman of Georgetown, ON; brother Leander (Val Ricketts) Boudreau of Saint John, NB; grandchildren Gina (Jesse), Jennifer (Matthew), Sara, Gwenda, Aidan, Rhiannon; 3 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Husband Harold K. Thomas, brother Clarence Boudreau and sister-in-law Ellen Boudreau predeceased Rita. Resting at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John (634-1701). Visitation will be held on Monday February 8, 2016 from 2:00 – 4:00pm & 7:00 – 9:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place from Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church (360 Dufferin Row) on Tuesday February 9, 2016 at 9:00 am. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rita’s memory can be made to the charity of one’s choice.
