Obituary of Laura May Gionet
Laura May Gionet passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on May 26, 1920 in Collette, New Brunswick. Wife of the late Joseph Michael Gionet. She was the daughter of the late Tom and Esperance (Pitre) Gaudet. Laura was a Legion Branch #69 Auxillary Member. She enjoyed Bingo and Bowling, was a devout Catholic and had visited St. Anne de Beaupre with her husband for a number of years. She is survived by sons, George (Judy), Reg (Pam); daughter, Margie, all of Saint John; brothers, Manuel (Regina), of Collette, N.B., Tom (Ida), of Collette, N.B., Joe (Evelyn), of Rustico, P.E.I.; sisters, Beatrice Black, of Saint John, Eveline Easson, of Montreal, Pauline Mazerolle, of Saint John and Claudia Boucher, of Saint John; 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Michael Joseph Gionet; 3 brothers, Leo, Edouard, Edmond; granddaughter, Beth Gionet; great grand-daughter, Laura Gionet. Resting at Castle Funeral Home, “Fallsview Chapel”, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John West, (634-1701). Visitation will take place on Thursday, July 4, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 5, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. from St. Rose of Lima Church. Following cremation, interment will take place in St. Joseph’s cemetery. Donations may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
