Obituary of Stephanie Elizabeth Kingston

On Dec. 21, 2022, our mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Stephanie Kingston died with grace and peace, surrounded by love at Bobby's Hospice in Saint John, NB.

Born in Montreal in 1928, Stephanie was the daughter of the late Dr. Magnus Seng and the late Christine (Coughlin) Seng.

Stephanie will be deeply missed by her 8 children and their families, Anne Marie Kingston, of Calgary, Michael Kingston, of Vancouver, John (Heather) Kingston, of Calgary, Elizabeth (Terry) Cox, of Las Vegas, Patricia (Dennis) Boyle, of Saint John, Thomas Kingston, of Vancouver, Martha (Mark) Brown, of Bedford, and Suzanne (Howard LaBillois) Kingston, of Hampton. Her 14 grandchildren, Sam (Kathy), Carolyn (Ian), Stephanie (Brad), Leslie, Dennis, Emily, Seamus (Sarah), Christine (Jake), Laura, Brendan, Logan, Charles, Kathryn, and Magnus, and 3 great grandchildren Darian, Seamus and Izzy will all deeply miss her given her love, social media savvy and great interest in each of them as they made their way through their lives. She also leaves behind her siblings Keena, Christine, and Magnus (Nancy) as well as the whole Kingston and Seng clans and her many many friends.

She was predeceased by her husband George Kingston, her grandson Jayson Besserer, and two sisters Margie Haberl and Deedee Smith.

"Bloom where you are planted" was one of Stephanie's favourite quotes and she did just that, blooming in all the communities she lived across Canada - Montreal, small communities in northern Ontario and Quebec, Clinton Creek, Yukon, the Miramichi and Carleton Hall, Saint John - building deep and lifelong friendships, contributing to the community, and growing her family.

She was an extraordinary individual – warm, sincere, engaging, compassionate, open minded, resilient, fun loving, accepting, sharp, kind, generous, wise, committed to making the world a better place with a deep confident faith that was guided by her commitment to social justice.
