Obituary of Art Morris

It is with broken hearts and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Art Morris of GrandBay – Westfield at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Sunday January 22, 2023. Art was the son of Tom and Lelia (Cobham) Morris, and Husband to Linda (Oagles) Morris.

Art owned and operated Brewster’s Machine Shop where he worked for 53 years. A man of integrity and honesty, he made many friends and acquaintances. For forty-seven years he was a member of the Westfield Golf Course. He golfed all summer and played pool all winter with a lot of the members. He loved golf and camaraderie there. Antique cars were a passion of Art’s. He knew every year by their shape, taillights, head lights etc. We spent many weeks in Florida where he could go to car shows and enjoy the classic’s, the weather didn’t hurt either. While we were there, we enjoyed welcoming many family and friends.

Art is survived by his beloved wife; Linda, his children, son; Sean Randell (Adrienne Melanson), grandsons; Tristen and Braeden, son; Jeff Randell, grandson; Spencer and granddaughter Abby, daughter; Carey Morris (Mike Melvin), three great grandchildren, Sean, William, and Layla, brothers; Jack (Bernice) Morris, Don (Jo-Ann) Morris, sister; Mary Lou Whiting, brother-in-law; James (Marilyn) Oagles, and several nieces and nephews.

Art was predeceased by his parents, Tom and Lelia, his mother and father-in-law, Beverley and James Oagles, and sister- in- law; Sharon Hatfield.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, N.B. (634 1701). At Art’s request cremation has taken place. A visitation will be held on Thursday January 26, 2023 from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8 pm at Castle Funeral Home. A Memorial service will be held on Friday January 27, 2023, at 11:00 am at Castle “Fallsview” Chapel. Interment will take place at a later time.
