Obituary of Norman Alfred Wickens
It is with great sadness that the family of Norman A. Wickens announces his passing which occurred on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on July 19, 1941, he was a son of the late Alfred and Beaulah (Howe) Wickens.
Norman spent 35 years working at NBLC and was inducted into the Saint John Sports Hall of Fame on November 4, 2017.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 60 years, Mary Ann (Hawkins); son, Joe (Anne); brothers, Allen, Mac (Janet), Paul; sisters, Patsy, Josey, June (Ernie); as well as his grandchildren, Ben and Rachel. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jean and Stan; as well as his sister-in-law, Patricia.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John, NB (634-1701). With visitation on Friday, March 24, 2023, from 2:00 – 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at 9:30 AM from Our Lady of The Assumption Church. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery. Donations in memory of Norman may be made to Bobby’s Hospice.
