Obituary of Linda McManus

After a courageous battle with breast cancer, it is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Linda Mary McManus on April 6, 2023, at Bobby’s Hospice. Born on March 6, 1961, in Saint John, NB, she was the daughter of the late Manford and Mary (nee Bonnie) Melvin.

Linda is survived by her beloved husband Paul McManus; children Erica (Barrie) Carson of Ontario and Thomas (Alex) of New Brunswick; three grandchildren Piper, Dexter, and Jordin; brother Roy (Stacy) Melvin.

Linda was predeceased by her parents; brother Steven Melvin; and sisters Lorna Fox and Kathy Talyer.

Linda enjoyed life and being active. She loved to travel, playing bingo, cards and darts; bowling, boating and fishing – but never putting the worm on or taking the fish off the hook; and loved SHOPPING.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, staff, and volunteers at the Saint John Regional Hospital. A special thank you to everyone from the Oncology Department and Palliative Care Unit at the Saint John Regional Hospital, the Extra-Mural care team, and all staff and volunteers at Bobby’s Hospice for their kindness, compassion, and outstanding care.

Resting at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, N.B. (634 1701) visitation for Linda be held on Monday, April 17, 2023, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, starting at 10:00 AM at the Castle Funeral Home Chapel. Internment will directly follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
