Obituary of Madelyn Anne Wright
It is with profound sadness the family announce the passing of Madelyn Anne Wright, beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, and friend died Sunday, April 16, 2023, at the Saint John Regional Hospital at the age of 24 after a long battle with depression. Born in Saint John, August 7, 1998, Madelyn is a daughter of Gerald and Tanya (Brown) Wright.
Madelyn was a student with NBCC RT program, worked at Winners and was a lover of arts and fashion, especially shoes and makeup. She had a passion for tattoos and all things weird and wonderful. Her happy places were music festivals, hanging with her close friends and cuddling her fur babies. Those who knew Madelyn knew of her amazing personality, her unique outlook on life, and her desire to help each person she met. She will be missed by all who knew her and loved her.
Madelyn is survived by her parents, grandparents, Peter and Linda McCarthy, Barb Wright, and Anne Sullivan, sisters, Jesselynn McLellan, and Evelyn Wright, nieces, Maycie, and Gia, aunts and uncles, Ronnie (Kim) Wright Jr, Lori (Shaun) Dempster, Peter (Alice) McCarthy, Jennifer (Jared) Ryall, and Twyla (Jody) Marshall, cousins, Howie and Maggie, Kaylyn and Hayden, Tristan, Brayden and Sophie, Sarah, Ethan, and Alivia. As well as many aunts’ uncles and cousins.
Madelyn is predeceased by her cousin, Abigail, grandfathers, Ronnie Wright Sr. and Daniel (Danny) Brown, Great Grandparents, Gerald and Constance Wright, and Mabel and Jim Little as well as extended family Christopher, Alicia, and Brent.
The arrangements are under the care and direction of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, N.B. (634 1701). A visitation will be held on Monday, April 24, 2023, at Castle Funeral Home from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at Castle “Fallsview” Chapel at 1:00pm. A reception will follow the service. Interment will take place at a later date. Donations in Madelyn’s memory may be made to Canadian Mental Health Association of NB, Kid’s Help Phone, Joshua Group or to some other charity of the donor’s choice, preferably in the area of mental health, at risk youth or LGTBQIA2S+, or animal welfare would be appreciated by the family.
