Obituary of Robert William McCarthy

The family of Robert William McCarthy announce his peaceful passing on Thursday, June 8, 2023, at the Ridgewood Veterans Health Wing. Born in Saint John, NB, on August 2, 1934, he was a son of the late Edmund and Louise (nee Stringer) McCarthy.

Robert is survived by his three sons: Brian (Roberta) McCarthy, Peter Erasmus (Jessie Horesay), and Robert (Karen) McCarthy; three daughters: Cathy (Carl) Guthrie, Fran Erasmus (Wali), and Laurie Erasmus (Glen Gallop); as well as several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife Gail McCarthy (nee Hart), parents, and siblings: Jack, Audrey, Nora, and Louise.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Castle Funeral Home (506) 634-1701 (309 Lancaster Ave., Saint John, NB). With respecting Robert’s wishes, cremation will take place with no public visiting or services.
