Obituary of Gary Edward Kernighan

It is with great sadness the family announce the unexpected passing of Gary Edward Kernighan on Monday July 3, 2023, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in St. George, N.B. on January 23, 1954, Gary is a son of the late John S. and Doris M. (Pierce) Kernighan, and he was the husband of the late Marilyn Beth (Ross) Kernighan.

Gary is survived by his daughter; April Fraser, companion Chipman Leslie, of Beaver Harbour, N.B., brothers; John (Barb) Kernighan, David (Sheila) Kernighan, Michael (Karen Gordon) Kernighan, sisters; Ethel (John) Smith, Pearl (Bill) Hailey, Sharon (Kenneth) Montgomery, Heather (Dwayne) Hooper, two grandchildren; Anthony Fraser and Tyler Fraser, two great grandchildren; Blaze, and Arzaylea, and several nieces and nephews.

Gary is predeceased by his parents, John and Doris, his wife, Marilyn, his sister, Carolyn Doherty, and brother, Lin Kernighan.

The arrangements are under the care and direction of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, N.B. (634 1701). As per Gary’s wishes cremation has taken place.
