Graveside interment
Obituary of Lawrence Emerson Cameron
It is with great sadness that the family of Lawrence Emerson Cameron announces his passing on August 5, 2023. Lawrence was born on December 12, 1934, to the late Frederick W.A. Cameron and Winnifred G. Cameron (Palmer). He spent his younger years working in the woods for his father’s lumber company, and later would go on to establish his business Cameron’s Welding Ltd.
Lawrence was always happy when he had a chance to go for a drive and give his little history lessons about the backwoods of Southern New Brunswick. For many years his co-pilot was his wife, Betty. He loved any time he could spend with his family and in his final years he was happiest at home.
Lawrence is survived by his daughters Terry (Daniel) Oram and Cindy Gillis; his grandchildren Christopher (Jamie) Oram, Jennifer Oram, Jessica Oram, Ashley (Will) Gordon and Rachel Gillis; two great grandchildren Hayden and Myles Oram; and his sister, Donna (Ray) Lloyd. He is predeceased by his loving wife Elizabeth (Betty) Cameron; his brother Arthur Cameron and his sisters Greta Cameron, Helen MacIntosh, Freda Cameron, and Margaret Delong.
In keeping with Lawrence’s wishes, there will be no formal visitation. A service of interment will take place on Friday August 18, 2023, at 1pm, at Cedar Hill Cemetery on Manawagonish Road. At this time, both, Lawrence and Betty will be laid to rest. For those who wish, remembrances can be made to the Saint John Red Cross Equipment Loan Program.
