Obituary of Leo Maurice Wallace
With broken hearts, the family of Leo Maurice Wallace Sr. announce his peaceful passing on Monday, August 28, 2023, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Randolph, NB, on September 4, 1934, he was a son of the late Charles and Mary (nee LeBlanc) Wallace.
Leo was an avid outdoors man, played for the Fairville Mercantiles Hockey Team, and was a talented musician who played various instruments.
He worked as a Steel Cutter for Ocean Steel and was a member of Local #809.
Leo is survived by his three sons: Leo Jr (Donna), Wally (Jim), and Willis; two daughters Patricia and Paula (Carmen); grandchildren: Karen, Darlene, Tammy, Sara, Robert, Jesse, Jenna, Jonathan, and Samantha; 8 great grandchildren; brothers Arthur (Marie Marsh) and sisters Alice and Shirley Ann; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Leo is predeceased by his wife Patricia Wallace (nee Hampton); brothers: Norman, Lenny, Joey, Gerald, Charles, William, and Donald; and sisters Emma, Gladys, and Helen.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff from the 3BN Palliative Care Team for their care and compassion shown to Leo and his family.
Resting at Castle Fallsview Funeral Home (506) 634-1701 (309 Lancaster Ave., Saint John, NB) visitation for Leo will be on Thursday, August 31, 2023, from 2:00 – 4:00 PM and 6:00 – 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, September 1, 2023, at 12:00 PM from Holy Spirit Parish – St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church (541 Milford Road, Saint John).
