Obituary of Dorothy Jeanette Anderson

Dorothy Jeanette Anderson (Ross) passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 1, 2023 surrounded by loved ones. Jean was born on October 27, 1932 in Saint John to the late Peter and Dorothy Ross.

Jean will be dearly missed by her children Betty Anderson (Fred Short) and Gordon L. Anderson, daughter in law Stella Cable, second daughter Coral Mathason, grandchildren; Tanya Stymiest (Lindsay), Natasha Corbett and Robbie Cobertt (Katelyn Ferguson) and great grandchild Sydney Stymiest.

Jean was the last surviving member of her immediate family, in addition to her parents Jean is predeceased by her husband Hubert Anderson, son Frankie Anderson, siblings; Delbert Ross, Victor Ross, Clarence Ross, Larry Ross, and Flossie Thibodeau.  

Jean loved to sing, dance and watch old country western movies. Her favourite show was the Price is Right and Family Feud. Jean and Hubert were contestants on the Price is Right and WON! That was a very proud moment for the both of them.  She also loved Halloween and Christmas, she enjoyed decorating and dressing up for the holidays. For as long as we can remember Jean dressed up as a witch for Halloween.

Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John, NB E2M 2L3 506-634-1701. A Private Graveside Service will be held in Greenwood Cemetery. Donations in Jean’s memory can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
