Obituary of Helen Florence Salter
On October 27, 2023, Helen Florence Salter (nee Savoy), beloved wife of Patrick David Salter, peacefully passed away at their home. Born in Saint John, NB., on March 17, 1954, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence Emile and Dorothy Ida (nee Taylor) Savoy.
Helen was a homemaker for many years before returning to the workforce at Sobeys in Grand Bay, taking the summers off to go camping until she retired. Helen was a proud member of the Grand Bay Lioness Club for several years.
In her spare time Helen loved to play bingo and always enjoyed a good game of cards with her friends and family.
Helen is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, David Salter; daughters Cherie (Stephen) English of Nerepis and Amy Salter (Rachelle Perkins) of Saint John; brothers: Billy (Diane) and Frank Savoy of Saint John, Jim (Peggy) Savoy of Grand Bay-Westfield, and Randy (Carol) Savoy of Sussex; sister-in-law Nicole Breau; adored cat Buddy; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Helen was pre-deceased by her brothers Gordon and Walter Savoy, and sisters Patricia Cobb and Mary Savoy.
Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Castle Funeral Home (309 Lancaster Ave., Saint John, NB) (506) 634-1701. In respecting Helen’s wishes cremation has taken place and a private family burial will take place. A Celebration Of Life Memorial will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at the Dennis Morris Community Centre (330 Green Head Rd, Saint John, NB E2M 4W3).
