Obituary of Frances Elizabeth Hancock
It is with heavy hearts the family of Frances Elizabeth Hancock sadly announce her passing on Sunday October 29, 2023, at Carleton Kirk Nursing Lodge. Born on November 9, 1941. Frances is the daughter of Henry Raymond Barnes and Irene Victoria (Wallace) Barnes, and widow of Lionel George Hancock.
Family was everything to Frances; she adored her loving husband Lionel who sadly passed this October. She was blessed with three loving children who will deeply miss her.
Son, Gordon (Rose) Hancock, Daughter, Donna (Henry Arsenault) Holland, and son, Wayne (Kim) Hancock all of Saint John, six grandchildren; Corissa (Chris) Arseneau, of Saint John, Marlee (Matthew Stears) Holland, of Lorneville, Matthew Hancock, River Hancock, both of Saint John, and Jason (Jessica) Chan, of P.E.I., ten great grandchildren; Brooke Holland, Ariel Kelly, Cato Holland, Briar Stears, Avery Stears, Quinn Arseneau, Mason Chan, Cameron Chan, Parker Chan, and Aurora Chan, one sister; Constance (Ron) Titus, many sister and brother-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many great friends.
Frances is predeceased by her parents, Henry and Irene Barnes, her beloved husband of 61 years, Lionel George Hancock (2023), her grandson, Austin Holland (2023).
Her passion for music was huge, which she shared with many throughout her life. Singing and playing the piano were her foremost talents.
A lifelong member of St. Marks United Church who was actively involved.
The family wish to extend a heartfelt Thank you to the staff of Carleton Kirk Nursing Lodge for their love and care.
Resting at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, N.B. (506 634-1701). A Visitation will be held on, Wednesday, November 1, 2023, from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm. A Funeral Service will be held at St. Mark’s United Church, 50 Dexter Dr. Saint John, N.B on Thursday November 2, 2023, at 10:00am. A reception will be held at St. Mark's Church following the service. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens on Friday November 3, 2023, at 11:00am. Donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Carleton Kirk Nursing Lodge. Online condolences can be made at www.Castlefh.ca. Funeral Service will be livestreamed through St. Mark's United Church Facebook page.
