Obituary of Darryl Noel Hansen
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Darryl Noel Hansen on November 4, 2023 at home in Musquash, NB.
Born in Chamcook, NB on May 5, 1947. He was the son of Noel and Verna Hansen and loving husband of Mary Hansen.
Darryl worked as a pipefitter welder throughout his career as a member of Local 213 Plumbers and Pipefitters union before retiring in 2006. Throughout his retirement he had many ups and downs related to his health but made it through all of them until his latest battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis.
He fought a long tough fight with his wife Mary by his side throughout. Darryl will be missed greatly but we can take comfort in the fact that he is no longer suffering.
He enjoyed many years of playing guitar and passing on the gift of music to his children. Some will fondly remember many years of kitchen parties at the Hansen’s, guitar playing at Pleasant Lake camping some 40 years ago and more recently at the Maces Bay 50 Plus Club.
In his younger years Darryl played hockey for the Lepreau Colts with his brother Wayne “Hen” and his good friend Ivan “Crow” Crawford making up the Bird Line. He was an avid bowler and horseshoe player (but not as good as Mary).
He was a member of the 69 Branch Legion for many years where he spent many good times with so many good friends.
Darryl leaves behind Mary, his wife of 57 years and is survived by his children Cathy (Pierre), David (Suzy) Wayne (Andrea), his brother Victor (Patricia), his sister Carol (Floyd), sisters in law; Linda Wickens and Rose Hansen, as well as his grandchildren, great grand child, and many nieces and nephews.
Darryl was predeceased by his brother Dwayne, sister Helen and his dear brother Wayne.
Arrangements are under the care of Castle Fallsview Funeral home 309 Lancaster Avenue which will hold a visitation from 4-7pm on Thursday November 9th/2023. As per Darryl’s wishes there will be no funeral service.
On Sunday November 12/2023 at 11am there will be a Tribute to Darryl at the 69 Branch legion.
