Obituary of Joseph Reginald Green

Joseph ‘Joe’ Reginald Green passed away peacefully with his wife Janice by his side on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at Loch Lomond Villa. Joe was born on August 25, 1938 in Montreal, QC to the late Harold and Rita (O’Hara) Green.

Joe was a police officer and worked at Brinks for many years.

Many on the West side would recognize Joe from seeing his friendly smile and wave from his front deck on Manawagonish Road. Joe and Janice were also foster parents for numerous years. Joe enjoyed going for drives and spending time with his family and friends. He loved playing pool, woodworking and drawing. He loved his dogs Pepper and Maggie.

Joe is survived by his wife of 50 years, Janice Gravel, sons; Anthony Green, Kirby Green, Lorne Green (Jennifer) and Michael Gravel, daughter Gayle Gravel, daughter in law Shelley Gogan, brothers; Frank and Raymond Green (Renatta), sister Sharon Armstrong (Scott), grandchildren; Ashley, Emily, Jessica, Josh, MacKenzie (Mack) and Vanessa, great grandchildren; Chase, Gabriella, Eli and Kinsley, and several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John, NB E2M 2L3, 506-634-1701. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 8, from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM. A Service will immediately follow at 1:00 PM in Castle Fallsview Chapel. Donations in Joe’s memory can be made  the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Alzheimer’s Society or a charity of the donor’s choice.
