Obituary of Harold White Shanks

Harold White Shanks passed away peacefully at the age of 100, on Sunday, January 28, 2024 at Bobby’s Hospice. Harold was born on June 12, 1923 in Saint John, NB to the late John and Charlotte (White) Shanks. Harold was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

In addition to his parents Harold was predeceased by his wife Elsie (Mawhinney) Shanks, siblings; Ruth Shanks, Audrey Shanks, Edith (Shanks) Melvin and Donald Shanks, and niece Marjorie (Melvin) Parlee.

Harold is survived by 3 nieces and 1 nephew.

Arrangements are under the care of Castle Fallsview Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John, NB E2M 2L3. 506-634-1701. A Graveside Service will be held at a later date in Maces Bay Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers donations in Harold’s memory can be made to Bobby’s Hospice or a charity of the donor’s choice.
