Obituary of Patricia Lillian Wallace

With sadness, the family announces the passing of Patricia Lillian (O'Hara) Wallace, 94, of Saint John, NB at the Saint John Regional Hospital on February 18, 2024. Born on March 14, 1929, Patricia was the daughter of the late Edgar Daniel O'Hara and the late Lillian May (Caples) O'Hara.

Patricia was a lifelong resident of Saint John and a graduate of St. Vincent's Girls High School and Saint John Vocational School. She was employed by the Great West Life Assurance Company for 15 years prior to her marriage to Fred J. Wallace, in July of 1962.

Following her husband Fred's retirement, they went on a number of cruises, beginning with a trip through the Panama Canal. They travelled extensively, visiting eight of Canada's provinces, toured the British Isles and visited locations such as Alaska, Hawaii, California, Florida, Bermuda, New York and Brazil as well as several other interesting locations.

Patricia is survived by her son Jordan Wallace (Kathleen Coughlan-Wallace), daughter Jillian Wallace (Wayne Bastarache), daughter Julie Wallace (David Doucette), sister Roxine (Earl) Fullerton of British Columbia, in addition to several nieces and nephews. Patricia was predeceased by her husband Fred J. Wallace, brother Ted O'Hara, sister Dolores Fitzgerald, sister Christine Breen and brother-in-law Thomas Breen. 

We would like to sincerely thank Dr. Christian Mackin and the staff of 3BN Palliative Care for the exceptional care given to our Mother. The compassion shown to her truly made a significant difference in the quality of her final days and hours during the time that we spent with her.  As a family, we are forever grateful.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2024, from 12 noon until 2 PM at Castle Fallsview Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John, with interment to immediately follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Graveside prayers to be performed by Father Ken Weir.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the SJRH Foundation in care of 3BN Palliative Care Unit, Bobby's Hospice or to a charity of the donor's choice would be greatly appreciated.
