Obituary of Margaret Elaine Evans

It is with great sadness that the family of Margaret ‘Peggy Elaine (Bishop) Evans announces her passing on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at the Saint John Regional Hospital surrounded by family. Peggy was born on July 2, 1950 in Saint John, NB to the late Howard and Margaret (Nichols) Bishop.

Peggy enjoyed relaxing outside; especially on the board walk with friend. She loved feeding the dogs as they passed by or watching the cruise ships coming into the harbour. She truly adored animals. Peggy also enjoyed playing crib with her kids.

Peggy will be dearly missed by her sons; Ray Lounsbury, Mike Evans and his wife Stephanie, daughter; Amanda Evans and her husband Greg Somerville, grandson Brier Perry, and the best Saturday morning coffee date she ever had, John Gallery.

In addition to her parents Peggy is predeceased by her husband Brian David Evans, sister Valli Sherrard and her husband Doug, and her special dog Queenie.

Arrangements are under the care of Castle Fallsview Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John, NB E2M 2L3. Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 26 from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM. A Graveside Service will take place on Monday, May 27, at 3:00 PM in Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flower’s donations in Peggy’s memory can be made to the SPCA or a charity of the donor’s choice.
