Obituary of Joan Maxine Melvin
Joan Melvin passed away peacefully at her residence, Carleton-Kirk Lodge Nursing Home on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at the age of 85. Born in Saint John, NB, she was the daughter of the late Loring and Annetta (nee Ferguson) Melvin.
She was a member of Carleton-Kirk United Church and lived most of her life in Saint John.
Joan is survived by her brother Arthur Melvin (deceased Marian) of Saint John, NB; brother-in-law William (Bill) Maguire of Quispamsis, NB; as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her two children June and Lawrence; brothers: Ronald, Kenneth, Vernon, and Lawrence “Larry”; and sisters: Marjorie Lorena, Angeline Harris, and Sharon Maguire.
The family wish to thank the staff of Carleton-Kirk Lodge Nursing home for their compassionate care.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Castle “Fallsview” Funeral Home (506) 634-1701 309 Lancaster Ave., Saint John NB.
In keeping with Joan’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Interment will take place in the Cedar Hill Cemetery, Lancaster Avenue, Saint John, NB at a later date.
