Please accept our profound condolences at this time. Joe was always a joy to chat with, he had a great sense of humour and often left you with a laugh at the end of a conversation. He was dedicated to his craft, his common sense approach and kindness shown through in every aspect! He was immensely proud of his family and was quick to share their accomplishments. May you take comfort knowing we share in your loss and strength from our prayers.
Sincerely,
Paul and Rena Smith

There wasn't any topic he couldn't talk about. May the memories you treasure, recall and share over the coming days bring comfort to your heart as you navigate this difficult time. Hugs to all.

My sympathies to Joe’s family and friends. He was a friend and classmate of mine at St. Lawrence College in Quebec City where we graduated in ‘68. We later roomed together with Terry Alderman at Park Hill Appts while in second year at St. Thomas University. Joe was so easy and fun to be around, with a wonderful sense of humour and great common sense. He loved his native city and province. While time and space moved is apart, I often think of him.

Joe and I met at the beginning of a cruise to Panama in November 2018. Becky and I were novice cruisers and Joe and Joan made us very comfortable. We enjoyed their company throughout the cruise and had lot of fun. (You may know, Becky passed in December 2020.) Thanks for the time and memories.
Joan, my prayers are for you and your family.

Joan, Elaine, Veronica and Sue (all "Coughlan girls" and to your families),
So saddened to read this. I met Joe and remember him from STU (50 some years ago). He was the life of ANY party, and through the years, via Elaine, I learned of his immense love of Joan and their girls. There will be tears, but I KNOW that Joe would strongly endorse a FUNeral. That's just Joe!! Love, prayers and strength flowing your way.
