Obituary of Patricia Joan Fitzgerald
Patricia ‘Penny’ Joan (Hucul) Fitzgerald was reunited with her loving husband of 53 years Malcolm George Fitzgerald on Wednesday, June 12 2024. Penny was born on July 15, 1943 in Vancouver, BC to the late Michael and Helen Hucul.
In her youth, Penny joined Royal Canadian Navy and eventually taught morse code communications; this is where she met the love of her life Malcolm. After they were married Penny began a career with NB Power working in the documentation department where she eventually retired from.
Penny was an amazing cook; she had many cookbooks and there wasn’t anything she couldn’t make. She specialized in creating dishes from her Ukrainian heritage. She also enjoyed gardening and bowling in her earlier years. Penny’s grandchildren were her whole world, she was incredibly proud of them and was a very big part of their lives.

In addition to her parents, Penny was predeceased by her husband Malcolm Fitzgerald (2018).
