Obituary of Carmen Nelson MacArthur
It is with broken hearts the family of Carmen MacArthur announce his passing on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Bobby’s Hospice surrounded by family. Born in Saint John, N.B. in 1936, Carmen was a son of the late Nelson and Dolly MacArthur, and beloved husband to Judith Anne MacArthur.
Carmen worked at the Canadian Coast Guard for the majority of his career, after retirement went on to work part time as a commissioner at the Ridgewood veterans centre which he enjoyed. You could always find Carmen sitting at the table reading a manual on a car he maybe working on or in his work shop building a lighthouse for someone in the family (his passion).
Carmen is survived by two sons; Robert (Diane) MacArthur and Bruce (Aggie) MacArthur of Saint John; two daughters; Susan (Willis) MacArthur and Cathy MacArthur of Saint John, seven grandchildren and eleven great grand children, three sisters; Betty, Sandra and Patricia and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Carmen was predeceased by his parents, Nelson and Dolly MacArthur, son Brian MacArthur and one sister, Marjorie Knight.
Resting at Castle Funeral Home, 309 L ancaster Ave. Saint John, N.B. (506 634 1701). A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at Castle Funeral Home from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm. As per Carmen’s wishes there will be no funeral Service at this time. A private family burial will be held at Greenwood Cemetery. Donations can be made to Bobby’s Hospice or the charity of the donor’s choice in Carmen’s memory. Online condolences can be made at www. Castlefh.ca.
