I grew up on Ridge Row and Les was my neighbour. As a little girl, my friends and I loved stopping by to see him. He always had lollipops ready for the neighbourhood children. He was always so glad to see the kids and so kind. When I moved back to Saint John a few years ago, it was wonderful to see the tradition continue when he called my son over to give him a lollipop. I've seen him out working in his yard for the past 40 years. The street won't be the same without him.

Les was a very kind, generous and genuine person. We had the pleasure of knowing this special individual who was always very supportive in so many ways. He was rich in wisdom and life experience that was always so interesting and thought provoking. We are forever thankful to have been able to dialogue with him and enjoy his rare quality of excellent story telling! We will miss him dearly. Nathan and Rachel(Pamela Hovey's daughter)
