Obituary of Leicester Hodgson
Mr. Leicester F. (Les) Hodgson, of 431 Ridge Row, Saint John, husband of the late Jean (Monahan) Hodgson passed away peacefully at the age of 95 at the Saint John Regional Hospital on October 31, 2013. Born in London, England on February, 10 1918 to the late W. Frederick and Ethel Rose Elizabeth (Baldwin) Hodgson. Les in his earlier years worked for Northern Electric in Montreal, from there moved on to work as an Engineer with Point Lepreau Nuclear Plant until his retirement. He was a member of the Army in Montreal as well served with the Royal Canadian Corps of Signals until he was discharged in 1943 due to being wounded. Les is survived by his daughter Deborah Hodgson of Quebec; A very proud Great Grand Pa to his wonderful great-grandchildren Olivia and Matthew of Montreal; one niece and two nephews. He will be sadly missed by all his family and friends. Resting at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John NB, E2M 2L3. Visitation will take place on Sunday November 3, 2013 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. A Legion service will be held on Sunday November 3, 2013 at 7pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday November, 4 2013 from Castle “Fallsview” Chapel at 1:00pm with Rev. Rob Salloum officiating. Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery. A reception will be held at the Castle “Fallsview” Reception Center following the burial. Donations made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the charity of donor’s choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
