Dear Louise , Eric & Josh & Family On behalf of " Fran's Fishing Fraternity " of Island Lake I would like to offer our condolences on the passing of our ' fishing buddy ' Regg ' Knives ' Holden . We certainly enjoyed his sense of humour and his great story telling ability . No one could put an edge on a knife like Regg . We will miss him on our next trip to Northern Quebec or where ever the fishing gods take us , and a toast or 2 will be made in his honour . Thanks Regg for the many good times you shared with us and we wish you ' tight lines ' old friend ! Sincerely Dave , George , Fran , Tilmon , Brian and the ' Boys from Fredericton ' .ps. Who will ever forget the laughter after hearing Regg's quote : " When the frost is on the pumpkin ,......... ............. dunkin ! " pps. A donation was made in Regg's name to the ' Men's Shelter ' at The Grace Presbyterian Church by the fishers of " Fran's Fishing Fraternity " of Island Lake .

Dear Louise , Josh , Eric and Family Would like to offer our condolences on your loss on behalf of " Fran's Fishing Fraternity " - the Island Lake fishing club . We always enjoyed Regg , or as we called him " Knives " for his great conversation and animated story telling , and not to forget to acknowledge how we all benefited from his knife sharpening skills . We will all be better fishermen because of the ' helpful suggestions ' he was always willing to share ! LOL I will never forget one of his many favourite quotes - " When the frost is on the pumpkin , that's the time for dickey dunkin !" We will miss Regg on our future fishing trips and will be sure to ' toast ' our fallen comrade ! We all wish you " tight lines " Regg as you find new waters to fish . " Fran's Fishing Fraternity " George , Dave , Fran , Tilmon , Brian and the Boys from Fredericton , has made a contribution to the ' Men's Shelter ' at ' Grace Presbyterian Church " in memory of Regg . Sincerely , David Nickerson

Farewell my brother. we slaute you and will cherish the memories and especially the lovely visit we had this past summer.. You were a great brother and uncle and Godparent to Troy and Shelley. we wish you'd had more time to spend with the family; but take comfort that you are on your eternal journey and have reunited with loved ones passed... Our hearts are heavy, our thoughts are with family and loved ones left who will honor your memory in celelbration of your devotion to family, friends and the joy your brought to so many with your generosities and spirit. Than Almitra spoke, saying, "We would ask now of Death." And he said: You would know the secret of death. But how shall you find it unless you seek it in the heart of life? The owl whose night-bound eyes are blind unto the day cannot unveil the mystery of light. If you would indeed behold the spirit of death, open your heart wide unto the body of life. For life and death are one, even as the river and the sea are one. In the depth of your hopes and desires lies your silent knowledge of the beyond; And like seeds dreaming beneath the snow your heart dreams of spring. Trust the dreams, for in them is hidden the gate to eternity. Your fear of death is but the trembling of the shepherd when he stands before the king whose hand is to be laid upon him in honour. Is the sheered not joyful beneath his trembling, that he shall wear the mark of the king? Yet is he not more mindful of his trembling? For what is it to die but to stand naked in the wind and to melt into the sun? And what is to cease breathing, but to free the breath from its restless tides, that it may rise and expand and seek God unencumbered? Only when you drink form the river of silence shall you indeed sing. And when you have reached the mountain top, then you shall begin to climb. And when the earth shall claim your limbs, then shall you truly dance. ...... and now you will dance with the stars and that twinkle in your eye.. will look down on your loved ones forevermore.....
