Obituary of Reginald Holden
Mr. Reginald John Holden passed away peacefully with his wife Louise Holden by his side on January 19, 2014 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on August 21, 1944 he was a son of the late George and Audrey (Campbell) Holden. Reginald served in the Navy in his younger years. Later he moved on to become a millwright for Rothesay Paper and the Irving Oil Refinery from where he retired. Reginald was an avid sportsman, he enjoyed spending time fishing and hunting with his family and friends. Reg loved spending time at the camp with his wife Louise enjoying nature's wonder and beauty. Reg was a past member of the Saint John Kinsmen and a member of the Mill Right Union. Reginald is survived by his loving wife Louise Lena Holden (Brewster;) three brothers Dennis Holden (Marilyn) of Welsford, NB, Benjamin Holden (Thelma) of Saint John and Eric Holden (Georgette) of Welsford, NB; eleven sisters Jean Forest (Archie) of Alberta, Valerie Sproul (Fred) of Saint John, Irene Ruseff (Fred) of London, ONT., Joanne Elward (Vic) of Michigan, USA, Dorothy Alexander (Rod) of Saint John, Heather Maxwell of Windsor, ONT., Linda Hyslop (Mack) of Amherstburg, ONT., Donna Forgey (Ferd) of Baxters Corner, Deborah Titus of Willow Grove, Enid Legacy (Joey) of Barnsville, NB and Norma Chatterton of Saint John. Also survived by his brothers and sisters in law, Lorraine & Allister MacDonald of Marys Point, Harvey, NB, Marion & Melvin Dixon of Marys Point, Harvey, NB, Garfield & Barb Brewster of Coverdale, NB, Gordon & Linda Brewster of Coverdale,NB and Martha & Zoel Collette and John Brewster of Kelowna, BC; as well is survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his two brothers Bertrum and Melborne Holden. Reg will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Resting at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, NB, E2M 2L3. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 from 7-9pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at 2:00pm from the Castle “Fallsview” Chapel with Rev. Andrew Morse officiating. Interment will follow the service at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. A reception will be held following the interment at the Castle “Fallsview” Reception Center.
