When I think back to the times I spent at the Whittaker home as a teenager with you Stacey, I always smile. Your mom was always so kind, had a warm smile, and made me feel cared for. She gave us tons of pillows and blankets for our sleepovers, and lots of pool side snacks. She let us laugh until the wee hours...we had so much fun! She was the best mom ever! I remember her sewing and remember her pride in her work...and her gentle reminders not to touch anything! lol! She loved you...respected you, and truly loved unconditionally, we all were blessed to have known her. Your an amazing mom now...and I am positive her influence and guidance has helped you along the way. I want to express my sadness at the crossing of this valiant woman. She never took the "poor-me" route. You would never even know that she was suffering with an illness by just spending a brief encounter with her. I so enjoyed my time with her last summer, and never dreamed that her recovery would be so short-lived. And she planned to live. She gave me some clothes that no longer fit because "I'm never going to allow myself to get that big again!" She looked forward to sharing her clothes with others and getting new ones for herself, to spending time again in AL, to enjoying meetings with the saints and so much more. I love that--it is a precious example of occupying until the Lord returns. I know she is watching with other loved ones in the cloud of witnesses with greater clarity than we can ever have on this side. She was gracious and thoughtful. She made the best coconut pie I've ever eaten, plenty creamy, not too sweet, just right. I have enjoyed playing games with her at her home and mine. And our common passion for sewing--although different (she liked the hand stuff; I like the machine stuff)--also drew us together. Her art form inspires any who has a bent that direction!They say you may forget what a person says, but you'll never forget how they make you feel. She always made me feel welcomed, and I treasure that. Any time I ever spent with her, I found relaxing. Not everyone carries an aura of peace that you can feel.Until we meet again!

We were blessed to know Sis. Whittaker for many years and I even stayed in her home once back in my single days and was treated like family. I do not know Carol personally. I am one of many who have been to conferences as well as summer revival meetings to hear Br Shelley bring the Word of God. Even so, as I have followed the facebook posts that he and Sis Shelley have shared and looked through all the family photos both old and new, a new picture forms. A picture of love, joy, faith in the One True God and His Son Jesus. Also the testimony of our hope which propels us with peace and comfort through these circumstances of living. Just want to express my sadness at the loss of this dear sister in the Lord. She was a special friend and I always enjoyed her hearty laugh. She was very gifted and had many talents. She spent hours helping me redecorate my sons room a few years ago. We shopped, painted and she made curtains to match.
